2012 YOUTH COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE

Congratulations to Anna Cresswell of Whangarei.

Anna has been selected to represent the North region as part of an ongoing plan to develop a special youth netball council to

give a voice to youth netball –the future of our sport.  Among other things Anna achieved the Youth Leadership Award at Whangarei, her NNZ Community Coach award, she is an ambitious young women who has also achieved her Regional Umpiring award and is an all round dedicated helper at the Whangarei Netball Centre.

All 12 regions send representation to this council meeting where ideas and issues are discussed, and by the end of the council the aim is to have an action plan in place to assist with implementingthe ideas and recommendations discussed.

We wish Anna all the best of luck, and look forward to following her journey through this process

NEW ZEALAND SECONDARY SCHOOL TRIALISTS NAMED

Netball New Zealand today announced the 26 girls selected as trialists for the 2012 New Zealand Secondary Schools Netball Team. The trials are to be held in Auckland from the 13th-15th April 2012.

CONGRATULATIONS TO:

Fa'amu Ross - Avondale College

Cherith Schragg - Mangakahia Area School

Temalisi Fakahokotau - Westlake Girls High School

Ella Fotu - Rangitoto College

Brooke Adams - Rangitoto College

From this trial, 12 players will be chosen to represent the New Zealand Secondary Schools Team in the Trans-Tasman Secondary Schools tournament, a competition that is based in New Zealand and Australia on alternate years, and will be held in Adelaide from the 25th May – 2nd June, 2012.
