REGIONAL U21 SUCCESS

With the North region making the decision earlier this year to not field a team in the National U21 competition, players who were eligible to compete and wanting to trial were released from the North region to attend Trials in other areas.

Congratulations to Samon Nathan and Stacey Martin, both from the Commodores Club who compete in the Premier league at Netball North Harbour, for their success in making U21 teams for 2012. 

Samon Nathan has made the Auckland U21 team and Stacey Martin the Waikato U21 side.  Well done to both players, we wish you every success this year.

NEW COACH FOR SAMOA - ONE OF OUR OWN.

Netball Samoa has announced the Head Coach for the National Team.  New Zealand born, from a family of thirteen children, Marcia Hardcastle is the new Head Coach for Netball Samoa. She has taken over the reins from Linda Vagana, who contributed greatly to NS during her time as coach. Full story...........click here

NETBALL NORTH AGM

The 2012 AGM held in Whangarei on Sunday the 11th of March, saw the farewell of Dulcie Brunel as President of Netball North. We wish Dulcie all the best for this next chapter in her life and hope to see her around the courts from time to time.

Welcome to Helen Schulz as President and Jo Yates as an elected member to the Netball North Board.

Congratulations to Christina Matthews and Callandra Field- both NNH U19 Umpires, for their selection into the national NZTD squad of 12 umpires.

NEW ZEALAND SECONDARY SCHOOL TRIALISTS NAMED

Netball New Zealand today announced the 26 girls selected as trialists for the 2012 New Zealand Secondary Schools Netball Team. The trials are to be held in Auckland from the 13th-15th April 2012.

CONGRATULATIONS TO:

Fa'amu Ross - Avondale College

Cherith Schragg - Mangakahia Area School

Temalisi Fakahokotau - Westlake Girls High School

Ella Fotu - Rangitoto College

Brooke Adams - Rangitoto College

From this trial, 12 players will be chosen to represent the New Zealand Secondary Schools Team in the Trans-Tasman Secondary Schools tournament, a competition that is based in New Zealand and Australia on alternate years, and will be held in Adelaide from the 25th May – 2nd June, 2012.
